overtime gnaws away at PAT's operating budget

The Port Authority is now claiming that a lack of dedicated funding has forced management to pay overtime to PAT bus drivers just to keep the system running. [1][2] To compound the problem, some of our fine elected officials blasting PAT management while not bothering to even meet with them. [3]

Before we can reach out to the "T", we're going to have to find a way to reach out to Ross.

As an update to this, Mr. Ken Zapinski of the Allegheny Conf. noted during our WDUQ taping that Allegheny Co. Councilman Matt Drozd met w/ Mr. Bland and rode the buses with him for an afternoon last week.

Mr. Drozd walked away very impressed and stated that he felt Steve Bland is the right man for the job.

Do we have a new champion for public transit? or at least someone who can reach accross the aisle to our Republican friends in Harrisburg?
